Appearing at the Festival for the first time, MacArthur Fellow and GRAMMY Award-winning mandolinist, singer, songwriter Chris Thile, is "that rare being: an all-round musician who can settle into any style, from bluegrass to classical" (Guardian). The "genre-defying musical genius" (NPR) hosted public radio favorite Live from Here with Chris Thile (formerly known as A Prairie Home Companion) and is a founding member of the critically acclaimed bands Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek. Don't miss the chance to hear this uniquely charismatic artist in a solo performance.

The Westerlies are "an arty [brass] quartet ... mixing ideas from jazz, new classical, and Appalachian folk" (New York Times). From Carnegie Hall to Coachella, they play with the precision of a string quartet, the audacity of a rock band and the charm of a family sing-along. Joined by the young violinist-fiddler George Meyer, they present Songbook, a program of music of John Prine, Randy Newman, Woody Guthrie, spirituals by the famous Golden Gate Quartet and more.

Trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, the great jazz ambassador, returns to the Festival after five years to lead the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra of all-stars. Together, they traverse the history of jazz, bringing classic and new music to life in vivid technicolor.
